Time to Take Back Privacy

I saw a TedX Talk video today on Surveillance Capitalism that in and of itself won’t win any Pulitzer Awards, but it has finally motivated me to make a few digital changes that have been long overdue. In short, it is time to take back some of my privacy.

Yes, I willingly and lazily gave my privacy away, but I can no longer ignorantly wink at this in the name of technology and convenience. Particularly when the two largest surveillance companies, Facebook and Google, practice censorship on an unbelievable scale. I never really thought about it this way but could this loss of privacy even be the way that the “Mark of the Beast” is ushered in?

For starters, I want to try a couple of things like ditching Google for DuckDuckGo, and using MeWe.com or Gab.com in the place of Facebook. That doesn’t seem like much but both those tech giants are a big part of my daily life and replacing them won’t be simple.

I hope to be able to share my experiences on this process and you will check in to see how I’m doing.
